If you look left before exiting the chair-lift you see a nice bowl under the peak of Mutterbergkopf. You have to earn it by skinning up if you want to ride it from the top (most ppl follow the cat-track lower and miss the top section). If you do follow the ridge you can look over the ridge to ski the almost always untracked back-side (lookers right). On that side there is myriad of options. The entrance to the back-side can be sketchy if you go too high up on Muttelbergkopf. Once in, it is great, if – and only if – the snow pack is stable. If do ride this side, the further you ride skiers left, the closer you get towards Schwarzwasserhuette. That is a nice winter hiking trail in this romantic valley, but the way back is flat, requires some skating and it tedious for our slightly less flexible friends on boards.
The one we describe here is the front face, spits you out next to the lift, does get tracks and especially lower will be chopped up. But… still fun to warm-up and blast down.
